Create the perfect party ponytail

A ponytail is everyone's favorite go-to hairstyle because it's the easiest way to deal with your hair when you don't have the time or energy to style it. Recently the ponytail has gotten an upgrade thanks to some trendy celebrities who have been sporting glamorous versions on the red carpet.

1. Apply a smoothing cream to damp hair, then blowdry using a round brush to create body.
2. Use a fine-tooth comb to tease the hair at the crown of your head, then gather your hair into a high ponytail using your fingers and secure with an elastic.
3. Take a small section of hair from the ponytail, wrap it around the elastic and hide the end with a pin. Sweep your bangs or face framing pieces off to one side.
